RioVision was founded in 2012 as a grassroots not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization chartered with defining a viable plan for economic development in Rio Vista, California. The group is represented by a diverse set of constituents that includes residents and businesses residing in the Downtown District, Trilogy, Homecoming, Vineyard Bluffs and outlying areas.
In mid-2013 AIA Communities by Design accepted RioVision’s application for assistance from their coveted Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team (R/UDAT) program. R/UDAT assists communities with long-term planning that is grounded on the unique characteristics of the area, while creating vitality and economic growth. AIA Communities by Design is based in Washington, DC and has helped over 200 towns and cities across the United States, including two cities in Northern California.
Serving the Community
RioVision is chartered with developing a long-range vision for Rio Vista with input from the entire community, key stakeholders and with the professional assistance from experts at AIA. Our goals are to set realistic milestones, maintain momentum, and achieve objectives through sustained community and civic involvement.
